BWRC is looking for an event planning intern for the 2009 program. This person will participate in the event planning process and assist with administrative tasks, such as answering incoming inquiries, developing collateral materials, coordinating interviews with radio, TV, and/or print media, research, and other tasks as assigned. This position is ideal for an aspiring conference, convention, meeting, or event planner seeking a mentor and an event from which to gain valuable hands-on experience, although it is also well suited for individuals interested in publishing, marketing, communications, desktop publishing, and public speaking. This unique position offers exposure to event coordination, researching and selecting venues, designing and drafting event materials, finding merchandise for gifts, staffing the event, advertising, marketing, and maintaining strict budgets as well as the business of writing for publication and career.
